In recent years, there has been a growing tendency on China’s social media that various sensitive social topics are taken advantage of to create news which are fabricated or deviate from the facts, making the masses fall into panic or anger. This art installation, which aims to make the public reflect on their behavior in social media, compares the social media environment to a closed space for virtual parade. By using mirror surface, it intends to make them realize that their seemingly intense views expressed on social media are oftentimes abetted by the social media environment, and how those views replicate and repeat each other to groundlessly intensify dissatisfaction with various social phenomena and social relations, which further distorts the reality and tear up social trust.
Opinions in social media concerning various sensitive social topics (wealth gap, official-civilian relationship, education resources, marriage, etc.) appear on the six planes to form a box-like space.
